Gustar

In Spanish, when we say we like something, the subject of the sentence is what is liked. Think of it as This disgusts me → This gusts me → Eso me gusta. This means the verb is conjugated based on what is liked.

Pronouns:

Me/Te/Le
Nos/Os/Les

Warning – The subject usually takes the article in Spanish [el/la/los/las]

Examples:

. Me gusta el anime // Anime in general, but the article is necessary
+ Nos gusta la música de Españita
. ¿Os gustó la película? // the one we've just watched
+ Les gustaba jugar CoD4 a mis hermanos
. ¿Te gusta probar nuevos sabores? // "probar" is the subject, not "sabores", thus singular
+ A Pablo le gusta la pizza y la carne

If the “object” (the one who likes) is obvious from the context, A [pronoun/name] is used for emphasis/contrast:

+ No me gustó esa película
- A mí me gustó
